He was born on April 14, 1935, in Keri, Zakynthos, Greece, to John and Rebecca Soulis.
Growing up during World War II, Dennis helped support his family by working on the farm, turning olives and grapes into oil and wine. After turning 18, he moved to America and began work by building switchboards for the telephone company. He eventually learned to become a welder at Allis Chalmers in Independence, Missouri, where he worked for 32 years before retiring.
After retirement, Dennis loved to visit his family in Greece, making annual trips to his homeland. He provided passionate tours for his relatives in America who joined him. As his health started to decline, he became more of a homebody, enjoying yard work and staying busy at home.
Dennis met his wife Sylvia soon after moving to America, and they were married within the year. Together, they had two sons, Dennis Jr. and John. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage until Sylvia's untimely passing in 2002.
He was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and was a cherished member of the community. Dennis was deeply loved by his family and friends in America, who will greatly miss him.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sylvia; his son, Dennis Jr.; and his brothers, Costa and Petros. He is survived by his son, John, and his fraternal twin brother, John, in Keri, Zakynthos, Greece.
