Don R. Lolli

Don R. Lolli, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 11, 2025, beloved husband of Deborah J. Lolli (nee Mrosek); dear father of Christina Dunn (Tim), Joanna Devereaux (Sean) and Anthony Lolli (Heather); dearest grandfather of Eloise, Conor, Theo, Cecilia, Anna and Sam; dear sister, Adella Loar (Mike); and dear sister-in-law, Denise Strickler.

Don grew up in Macon, Missouri the son of Tony Lolli and Erma Naomi Lolli (nee Gerlich). He graduated from Macon High School where he lettered in track and football. He was linebacker and spinner back and was named to the first high school All-Star Game, which was played in Bush Stadium. Don still holds the school record for most touchdowns scored in a single season (28!) and when he had the ball, he was described by the local paper as an “enraged rhino”. Also, he was president of the Latin club, played in the All-District Band and was Student Council President.

Don attended the University of Missouri Columbia, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. In 1974, he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree in law.

Don spent 46 rewarding years practicing business law in Kansas City, finding considerable time for pro bono work, retiring in 2020 from the law firm of Dysart, Taylor, Cotter, McGonagle and Mortimore. Don loved his job, and more importantly, the people who surrounded him every day – from his “office family” to his clients. But Don’s truest happiness was found with his family, and large extended family.

Don will be sorely missed by his family and friends but will never be far from our hearts.

Don’s visitation will be held 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Visitation Parish, 5141 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64112. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Visitation Parish, with a luncheon to immediately follow in Tighe Hall. He will be laid to rest in Saint Charles Cemetery in Bevier, Missouri at 2:00pm on Friday, February 21, 2025.
