Don and M.J.came into my life some years ago bringing friendship, loyalty and happiness- - - indeed each get-together included new jokes, hearty laughter from Don and gentle words of family news from M.J. - - - -  many members of friends, family & co-workers & all of us who knew or just met Don momentarily will never fill his void in our hearts - Love & prayers to M.J., Stacey & all of their wonderful families, B.J.D.

I am sorry this is late, but it was in my husband's e-mail which I have not checked until today; he passed away in 09.  We met Don at Ameristar and he was a Star to us.  He was always so friendly and never passed up a moment to stop and chat with Steve (also in residential construction).  So they had "war" stories to share.  Such a great smile for us all the time. And the e-mails were always a "laughing moment". I know he will be missed by all who knew him.  I know how hard it is to have someone special taken.  My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family and dear friends.

I knew Don from Ameristar Casino. I worked in Security from 2000 til 2005.He would always tell me where have you been little one? I haven't seen you for 40 days and forty nights He was an awesome man, a good friend to me. Rest in peace, I know God is watching over you and your family.

I met Don in 2001 when I was starting in the business at Ameristar.  The first day I met him, he was cracking jokes.  I will never forget "Makin' Bacon", the photo in the front pocket of his uniform shirt, nor the endless amount of candy the man carried and gave away.  Through the 6 years I was there, Don made everyone laugh and was a pleasure to work with everyday.  He exemplified customer service to his teammates and guests, always.  He was one of a kind is now in a better place.

I worked with Don for several years at Harrahs.  I will never forget Don's smiling face and ability to always lift up my spirits when the work day was challenging.  Don always had a quick joke ready to make me laugh and put things in perspective.   Heaven has truly welcomed an angel from here on Earth.

Cornelius Family, I worked with Don for several years at Ameristar and he was always such a uplifting, fun sprit kinda man. He is truly missed. I know he will have plenty of squirrels in heaven to chase around!

Don, you kept things interesting at Ameristar Casino. I always looked forward to seeing you because I knew you had a joke for me. I will miss your smile, laughter, phone conversations, 
and even tasting your baked goods. I will never forget you and my life was a little easier and I am a better man for having met you. Solong my friend.

Don, thank you for all the jokes and gags. I never knew a person who could always make someone smile.  You were one of those special people who always had a smirk or smile. Thank you for the memories. God bless you!!!!!!!!

Don, words alone can not express the kind of man you were. Between the laughs, the stories, and the many relocation of squirrals, lol. You always seemed to have a smile even during the worst of times. I'll always remember the times we shared at Ameristar or as you called it the Coal Mine. You were a good friend and me and your fellow co-workers will miss you.

Don, thanks for training me so well at Ameristar. I had a good time working and talking to you. The trains are still chugging on my end. I wish I could have seen you one more time at Tim's. I will miss your "HELLO" call. bye... for now

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.  Don was a wonderful man and will always be thought of with fondness in my heart. My life has been blessed to have worked with him for so many years!

I worked with Don for many years at Ameristar and he would not let a day go by without making me laugh usually several times through the day. He would say "kid I got a dog for sale want to see a picture of him" and he would then show me that picture that he always carried in his front pocket that had to be the funniest picture I have ever seen. Or there was the day he told me to walk over to the side of his van and when he opened the door a squirrel ran out and scared the you know what out of me. He told me he would catch them in his backyard and bring them north of the river because they could not swim back across the river. He always had a joke. The days when he was around always went by a little easier. May he rest in peace and may his family know he was a great man.

Don was the all-around good guy who created laughter for others and for himself.  He will be missed for sure.  Margie, may the dear Lord give you the extra strength, comfort, and courage that you need in the passing of your husband.  Stacey lost her dad at an early age, but she is exhibiting her strength and courage by doing what she does best:  organizing the memorial:)  May Jesus give Mikayla and Sierra an understanding that Grandpa Don is truly in heaven, and that they know at such young ages that they will see their Grandpa Don again when they arrive in heaven.  May all who loved Don be given the faith that Jesus taught us:  do unto others as you would do for one's self.  God bless all, now and forever. I just heard that you left us and went to a better place. Having you around was great. You and your jokes were great and funny. You would send my daughter Hug  coupons. I think we still have a couple to redeem. I knew that you were sick and Marge let me talk to you. She is a special person that took her life to take of you. Now she can look back and look at the great times you and she had. I knew you had a daughter but I didn't get to meet her or Marge at all. But I knew them thru your stories.
 
I knew when you left work I would ask Ralph if Charlie heard from you at all. Charlie would keep us dated.  I got a few emails.
