Donald Ray Goff, 81, of Belton, Missouri passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022. Don was born September 16, 1940 in Seagraves, Texas. He was the son of William Dale and Tilly Fontella (Smith) Goff. Don graduated from high school in 1959 in Lamont, Oklahoma.
After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army and served for two years including a tour in Berlin, Germany. He attended KU, but his passion for music changed his career path. Don was a self-taught musician and an acoustic guitar player and formed the folk music trio, The Music Company. He met his future wife, Sharon Ricketts while performing at the Castaways Lounge on the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. They were married in the Chapel at the University of Missouri, in Columbia on March 25, 1967.
He was a gifted man. He refinished furniture, built homes, and was a general contractor, property manager and musician. His best friends were the Don Juans, he was Don One, Don Lohrengel was Don Two and Don Homrighausen was Don Three. Don enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing. He was also a poker player and played with his buddies in Paola, Kansas. Don was a car restorer. He loved older cars and his last project included the reassembly and restoration of an Austin-Healey Sprite.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Barbara Goff and brother, Bill Goff. Don is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Goff of the home and many friends.
