
Belton, MO - Donald Ray Morrow, age 78, a long-time resident of the Kansas City area, passed away Saturday November 29th, 2014 at Research Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday December 5th, 2014 with visitation from 10 – 11 prior to the service at One Spirit United Methodist Church, 7900 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64138. Born in 1935 in Booneville, MO, Don moved to Kansas City after graduating from Booneville High School in 1953. He lived in the Kansas City area for the remainder of his life. He married Betty Ann Jackson in 1958 and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage together. Don worked for many years as a driver for Jack Cooper Transports. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 41. Don enjoyed many wonderful trips with her wife, Betty. They enjoyed trips to Rio De Janeiro, Egypt/Israel, Hawaii and Alaska. They also took many driving trips touring around the country and seeing the sights. These trips provided him with a lifetime of memories and many stories to tell. Don was a longtime member of Longview United Methodist Church in Kansas City and later One Spirit United Methodist Church, also in Kansas City. He was so proud of his church and the members were like family to him. He would enjoy many outings playing golf with them or just hanging out and telling stories. Don was so proud when God blessed him with three grandchildren, Joseph Thomas Kalinka, Nicholas Glenn Morrow, and Victoria Louise Morrow. He loved to come to each of their events and watch them as they played sports, acted in a play, played an instrument, or sang in a choir. Don is survived by his wife Betty Morrow, his daughter Kelly Kalinka, and his son Tom( wife Linda), as well as his three grandchildren, two brothers (Zane Morrow and Larry Morrow), and a sister Dorothy Bailey. He was a good man and will be missed by many people.
