Dorothy (Dottie) Marie Billings went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 where she joined her parents, Harold G. Oswald Sr. and Mildred M. Oswald, her brothers Art and Harold Oswald and her beloved Husband, Edwin (Eddie) J. Billings Jr.
Dottie was born May 31, 1935 at Walter Reed Army Hospital. She traveled around the country with her family from base to base. She moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1945 and she attended Lakeview High School. She met Eddie while he was stationed in Michigan and they were married June 6, 1953. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri where they made their home and raised 4 children.
Dottie was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and was a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Choir for 36 years. She traveled with the choir and recorded 4 records. She enjoyed bowling and playing the piano. She was always by Eddie's side as he performed as a jazz musician throughout the Kansas City area. She thoroughly enjoyed line dancing and was often seen on the dance floor showing off her moves. After Eddie passed in 2000, she loved hanging out with her girlfriends, her kids and grandkids and going to the lake with her eldest son Greg.
Dottie is survived by her 4 children, Greg, Scott (Mary), Leslie (Matt) and Claudia, her 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, November 21, at St Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Blue Springs, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 9:30am to 10:00am and the Mass will begin at 10:00am. Dottie will be laid to rest next to Eddie at Mount Olivet Cemetery following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.
