

Dorothy Louise Butler, 91, Kansas City, MO, passed away June 7, 2015 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 12th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will be 3:00PM Friday at High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, MO.
Dorothy was born September 4, 1923 in Stanberry, MO. She was a Kansas City resident for 60 years, having moved from Moberly, MO. She was a past President for the V.F.W. 2654 Auxiliary in Moberly, MO. During WWII, she was a secretary for the Fire Marshall at Lakeside Ammunition Plant. She also worked for Montgomery Ward from 1962 until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed camping trips with her family on the Osage River, enjoying watching hummingbirds, and caring for her roses and violets. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Donald E. Butler; her parents, Edward F. Murry and Jenny Law Murry, 1 sister, Edna, 2 brothers, Edward and Jerry Murry.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia James, Holt, MO, Donna (Carmen) Williams, and Janet (Aaron) Nettle, both of Kansas City, MO; six granddaughters, four great grandsons and four great granddaughters; three great, great granddaughters, 1 great, great grandson; 4 nephews and 3 nieces. The family wishes to thank the CICU department who cared for her during her last illness. Now, we know why heaven is more beautiful. It has our mother. She will be deeply missed.
