Edith Mae Whitfield Long, born August 24, 1925 in Trenton, MO, passed away February 6, 2012 at Garden Village Retirement Home, Kansas City. Memorial visitation will be from 2-4 PM Sunday February 12, 2012 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, Kansas City, MO. Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Ms. Long was an avid golfer, bridge player and member of Beta Sigma Phi for almost 60 years. She is best known for her outgoing positive spirit and her extraordinary laugh that brought joy to all who heard it. She was a member of First Christian Church in North Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Long.
Surviving are her daughter, Beverly (Dick) Pfeiffer, Sedalia; granddaughter, Lisa (Jeff) Sevick; and great grandson, Zachary Sevick, Kansas City.
