

ELNORA LILLIE (BUTLER) CLARK, age 91, of Kansas City, Missouri went home to the arms of Jesus on October 22nd, 2017. Mrs. Clark was born April 29th, 1926 to Frances and John Butler in Kingston, Arkansas. She was the middle child of her siblings, Johnny and Elizabeth (Betty), and loved her family, taking care of her home, and working in her yard. She met her future husband, Jack Clark, in grade school and the two had been together for over 80 years. Elnora graduated in 1944 from Center High School and she married Jack on March 28th, 1945 before Jack went to Europe during World War II. Upon returning from war, Elnora and Jack welcomed their son, Jack Clark, Jr. Elnora loved children and devoted much of her life to them. She ran Vacation Bible School at Sante Fe Hills Baptist for several years. Since then, she became a member of her son's church, Overland Park Baptist Temple. She also served as president of Center School district's PTA and served a year as the PTA state president of Missouri. She worked as the first secretary for Center South Junior High until her retirement in 1989. Elnora was a formidable lady who rose to the top in all her endeavors. In Eastern Star, she served as Worthy Matron as well as Grand Representative to Illinois and Grand Ruth.
Mrs. Clark was predeceased by her parents John and Frances Butler and her brother, Johnny. She remains in the memories of her steadfast husband Jack Clark as well as their caring son Jack Clark Jr, daughter-in-law Valerie (Abernathy), and their son Matthew Clark and daughter-in-law Megan (Harkleroad). Elnora will also be sorely missed by her sister Betty (Butler) Jursch and brother-in-law George Jursch; their children Nancy (Jursch) Turner, husband John Turner, and James (Jimmy) Jursch and fiancé Lisa; and their grandchildren Wendy and Wesley Turner. Elnora also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Richard Clark; his wife, Julia (Ranes) Clark; their daughter, Diana (Clark) Johnson and husband, John Johnson; their grandchildren John Johnson Jr, wife Siobahn, and Bryan Johnson, fiancé Shanon. Lastly, she leaves behind many more family and friends who loved her.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 at Mount Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home in Kansas City from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with a special Eastern Star service at 6:30 pm. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
