Wayne was born in Independence, Missouri on July 31, 1953 to Elvin and Helen (Lewis) Gardner. He graduated in 1971 from Truman High School. In 1973, Wayne enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as Staff Sargent for 8 years. Wayne later graduated from Longview Community College in 1989. He later worked for Hallmark in the I.T. Department in Kansas City, Missouri.
Boy Scouts was a true passion of Wayne’s. He was awarded Order of the Arrow and Warrior “Honorary” in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Wayne also had a love for Sci-Fi movies and books along with riding motorcycles, soccer and wrestling.
Wayne is survived by his Son, Jason & (Allison) Gardner; Daughter, Angela Gardner; Mother, Helen Locke; Grandchildren, Ava & Luke Gardner; Brothers, Edward & (Shelly) Gardner, Gene Gardner & their family. Preceded in death by Grandson, Isaac Unger; Stepfather, Chris Locke; and Father, Elvin Wayne Gardner.
