Emily Light, 56, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Providence Medical Center. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at St. Mary’s ~ St. Anthony’s Church, 615 North 7th Street, Kansas City, Kansas.
Emily was born on February 7, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas to Juan and Virginia (Diaz) Oropeza. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Samuel V. Light; 7 sisters, Alice Oropeza, Dolores Oropeza-Perez, Herlinda Oropeza-Hernandez, Sophia Hollister-Crowley, and Rebecca Oropeza, all of Kansas City, Kansas, Patricia Pourazari of Hernando, MS, and Cheryl Oropeza-Smalley of Kansas City, Missouri; 5 brothers; John Oropeza Jr., Anthony (Tony) Oropeza, Nick Diaz-Oropeza, Stephan Oropeza, and Raymond Oropeza all of Kansas City, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her 26 nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Heather Light, and Danny Light; along with 3 grandchildren.
