Enrique "Henry" Ruiz

October 2, 1947 to Manuel and Mary “Nellie” (Garcia) Ruiz, Henry grew up on the Westside of

Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Westport High and soon after married Virginia Martinez,

also of Kansas City. They had five children together before divorcing. He later met and married

Norma Quintanilla, who remained with him for over 40 years. They had one daughter together

and adopted their granddaughter. Henry was an avid collector of comic books and other things.

He was a hard worker, staying at Georgia Pacific Paper Company as a shipping and receiving

manager for 38 years, and later retiring at Smurfit- Stone Container Company in 2010.

In addition to his parents, Henry is preceded in death by his brothers, Rafael “Ray” Ruiz,

Patricio “Pat” Ruiz, Cipriano Ruiz and Jesus “Jesse” Zavala Ruiz Sr.; and his Daughter, Angela

Christine Ruiz. He is Survived by his wife, Norma Ruiz, of the home;sister, Ann (George) Gallup,

of KCK; sons, Henry, Robert (Nadit), and Michael Ruiz; daughters, Denize, Kira and Marcella

Ruiz; 32 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

At Henry’s request, no services will be held.
