Memorial services for Ervin “Dutch” Dalke, 86, of Lenexa, KS will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Heritage Activity Center at Lakeview Village in Lenexa. He died April 28, 2014 at Lakeview Village Care Center.
The oldest of eight children, Dutch was born in Long Lake, SD and moved to the Kansas City area in 1952. He lived the past seven years at Lakeview Village. An Army veteran, Dutch worked 35 years at Haver-Lockhart/Bayer Animal Health before retiring in 1988. He was a former deacon and active member of Village Presbyterian Church and volunteered eight years with Habitat for Humanity.
Dutch was preceded in death by two children, Dianne Klein and Ervin “Bud” Dalke. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margaret Dalke; four children, Debbie Galvan (Ed), Kathryn Powers, Donita Porter (Joe), and Brian Dalke; two step-children Diane Walker (Wayne) and Dean Pedersen (Pam); 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Crossroads Hospice, Village Presbyterian Church or Lakeview Village Foundation.
