Esther was born August 30, 1926 in Ainsworth, Nebraska on a farm. She was the daughter of Ernest and Rosalie Gerths.
She worked for 29 years for H. R. Williams Mill Supply as a Hand Wire Cutter and retired in 1992. She is survived by her two sons, Boyd Lighthill and his wife, Jane, Independence, MO, Jim Lighthill and his wife, Brenda, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Lisa Patrick (Chris), Lori Moskowitz (Eric), Melissa Acton (Yale), Kirsten Davis (Scott), James Lighthill (Rochele), David, Mike and Tammy Lighthill and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Burl of 59 years, parents, one sister, four brothers and son Vern Lighthill.
Visitation at 9:00 a.m. and Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
