Evelyn Marie (Mackay) Carpenter, 79, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at her home. Evelyn was born June 27, 1932 in Kansas City, MO. She was the daughter of John Hamilton Mackay and Margaret Mackay. Evelyn owned several successful card and gift shops in the Kansas City area.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, James John Carpenter. She is survived by her children, James Patrick Carpenter of Phoenix, AZ and Jean Marie Beckerman of Chatham, IL; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Beckerman and Paige Beckerman of Chatham, IL.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 22nd, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel with burial following in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
