

With his children by his side, Faustino “Chick” Reyes of Kansas City, MO., passed away peacefully December 31, 2015 in his home at the age of 91. With a strong faith and belief in worshipping the Lord, our Savior Jesus Christ, Chick demonstrated God’s purpose in his love and compassion for family and friends. He was born February 15, 1924 in Courtney, Missouri to Ysidoro and Luisa Reyes. As a child, he was given the nickname Chick. Dad worked at the Fred Harvey restaurant in the historic Union Station before being called to serve in the United States Army. He was a veteran of WWII and stationed in Burma. After the war, he started a landscaping business, retiring in his late seventies. Preceded in death is his wife, Frances, whom he was married to for 56 years. He met his wife on a blind date and after a long courtship they were married in Eureka Springs, AR, known as little Switzerland of the Ozarks. Chick and Frances were proud parents to surviving children, David Reyes, Tina Carter, Luisa Reyes, twins, Ruth Vasquez and Rachel Coronado, Lisa Dunnington, Mark Reyes, Joel Reyes, Louie Reyes, Virginia Kahmann and two sons, Danny and Robert, whom preceded him in death. He is survived by sons and Daughters-in-laws, 27 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. His parents and seven brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother and Sisters, Isaac Reyes, Delores Reyes and Florence Brisbin, along with many nieces and nephews. His hobbies included tending to his garden and Cooking.
Funeral Services will be 10AM Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., KCMO 64111. Visitation will be 5-7PM Tuesday, January 5, 2015 at McGilley Midtown Chapel.
