

Faythe Alene (Colburn) Dick, of Kansas City, MO passed away on March 29, 2013. She was born to Gerald S. and Marguerite E. (Hilgers) Colburn, October 13, 1921, at her maternal grandparent’s farm three miles west and three miles north of Plainville, KS.
On November 27, 1947 she was married to Dallas Ivan Dick in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1991. Faythe’s grade school years were spent at a one room school house, where her mother taught grades one through eight, and was her first teacher. In 1939 she graduated from the Plainville High School, Plainville, KS. Through the years Faythe held accounting positions in Wichita, KS during WWII, and California, St. Louis, MO and the Kansas City area until her retirement.
She is survived by her sisters, Twila L. McCauley, Buena Park, CA, Margie B. Schoen, Downs, KS, and her brother Ned D. Colburn, Plainville, KS. While they had no children of their own there are 10 nieces and 17 nephews, as well as many “chosen kids” who blessed and brought joy to their lives.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 8th at McGilley State Line Chapel. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
