

Felicisima G. Quiason of Overland Park, KS passed away October 8, 2016, in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held at McGilley’s Funeral Home on 12301 State Line Road, KCMO, on Tuesday, October 11, from 5:00 - 8:00pm. The Rosary will begin at 5:30pm. Mass of Resurrection will be at The Church of the Nativity on 3800 W. 119th St. Leawood, KS 66209 Wednesday, October 12, at 10:00am. Interment services will follow immediately at Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
Felicisima G. Quiason was born in Dinagat, Surigao, Philippines on October 26, 1919, born to Marcelina Ga and Glicerio B. Geotina.
She attended Philippine Normal College and obtained a teaching degree. Later on in life, she obtained a Masters Degree in Mathematics at Arellano University in the Philippines. Felicisima, along with her entire family, moved to the United States in 1973. She continued to teach math in the Kansas City School District.
She took pride in the educational accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, inspiring many to be the best that they could be. She was a voracious reader and a life-long learner. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and preparing wonderful dinners for her large family. Felicisima was happiest when she was surrounded by all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio O. Quiason, DDS, husband of 39 years and her oldest son, Felix G. Quiason, DDS, MS. She is survived by Arturo, MD, (Emmeline, MD), Mario (Aida), Linda Bustos, RN(Jonas Bustos, MD), Rodolfo, CPA, Renato, CPA (Leticia), Victor, DDS (Catherine), and Stella Quiason, MD (Charles Smith, MD). Daughter-in-law, Nora Quiason, MD widow of Felix. Fifteen grandchildren: Emilie Rottinghaus (Dan), Melissa Tizon (Alex), Robert Quiason, Arlene Vermylen (Robert), Mary Pope (Brian), Marcy Quiason (Tim Quincy), Janette Bustos Englert, Laura Mitchell (Greg), Michael Quiason, Blake Quiason (Jessica), Brian Quiason (Michelle), Brett Quiason, Jacob Smith, Rachel Smith, and Joshua Smith. Eight great grandchildren include Collin and Carson Rottinghaus, Emmeline, Katherine, Elizabeth and John Vermylen, Maya Tizon and Landon Quiason.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Hospice House of Olathe. The family expresses their deep gratitude to the caregivers for Felicisima, Ginny Swift and Nita Yokley.
