Floyd Thomas Christian, 81, of Grain Valley, MO passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Monterey Park Care Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel from 6-8pm. Funeral service on Friday at 10am also at the chapel with burial to follow at Lee’s Summit Cemetery. Floyd was born on May 17, 1929 to William and Nora Christian in Kansas City, MO. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Floyd owned and operated Christian Sheet Metal Company for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1995. He also owned and operated Valley Hills Golf Course in Grain Valley, MO. Floyd was a member of S.M.W. Local #2, Shriners International, the Scottish Rite and the Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge # 446. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Evelyn; his parents; four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his ex-wife, Nedra Christian; sons, Gary (Denise) Christian of Grain Valley, MO and Daniel (Sherri) Christian of grain valley, MO; daughter, Karen (Stephen) Baxter of KCMO; a brother, Jack (Dorothy) Christian of Blue Springs, MO; 9 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
