

Floyd Forsberg, 93, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on March 16, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 11AM Wednesday, March 20, at Community Covenant Church, 15700 W. 87th St. Pkwy. Visitation will be held at 9:30AM at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd. at 2PM. Floyd was born in Comfort County, Minnesota on April 3, 1919. He graduated from Braham High school, and continued on to receive his electrical engineering degree from Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At age 21, he was drafted into the Army and spent 4½ years serving as a Technical Sergeant in the Signal Intelligence Corps during World War II. He was stationed in Australia supporting IBM Machines that broke Japanese Code. Floyd was married to Muriel Elaine Larson on March 12th, 1949 and they were married 64 years. Floyd was employed as a Computer Engineer with IBM for 46 years. He enjoyed fishing with his Dad in Minnesota, traveling with his family, reading historical literature, listening to polka, fixing and collecting things, and reminiscing about World War II. He was also actively involved in the Evangelical Covenant Church throughout his life. Floyd is lovingly survived by his wife Muriel, his daughters, Sharon and her husband Jurgen Welge, Lynda and her husband Doug Christensen and their two children, brother Harold Forsberg, and other family and friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Albin and Nancy (Nelson) Forsberg, and his sister Ruby Oberg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to North Park University, 3225 W.
