Floyd David Hallmark

Born on May 29, 1945, Dave was the son of Renford and Edna Hallmark of Pontiac, Michigan. In 1963, after attending Lake Orion High School, in Lake Orion, MI he worked for Pontiac Motors and soon after enlisted into the United States Army. In 1975, Dave moved to Kansas City where he had a successful 44-year career in the Bankers Mortgage industry.

Dave was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a magnetic personality, quick wit, and a good sense of humor. He was an amazing man who utilized his skills and connected with all finding a way to make people feel comfortable. Dave always said, “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.”

Dave loved billiards, he spent 30+ years playing in pool leagues around town, traveling to tournaments in the Midwest and Las Vegas and shot individually and in doubles with Brenda winning his share of money and trophies.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Gayle Blankenship, of 40 years; his son Craig Hallmark of Tennessee; daughter’s Deborah (Jim) Voskuhl of Florida, and Denise Hallmark of Ohio; sisters-in-law Kathy Blankenship, husband Marty Berthelot, and Sherry Pace; grandchildren Alyssa, partner Jordan Holbrook, Ashley (Joel) McKinney, Anna, fiancé Caity Robertson, and Evan; three great-grandchildren Aubrey, Landon and Olivia Voskuhl; and other loving family members and friends.

Dave was Brenda’s heart and soul and the love of her life! He was a dedicated husband, consistently present, supportive, honorable, and loyal.

There will be a visitation and viewing on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Military honors at graveside on Friday, June 13, 10:00 a.m. at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens (Garden of Remembrance).
