

Frances (House) Haase, lifelong resident of Kansas City, MO received the crown of eternal life November 13, 2012 at 101 years. Born second of four children to John J. House and Maud (Netherton) at the family home in the Centropolis area of Kansas City at 15th & Corrington, she met her lifelong love, Harry R. Haase while working at the Sears Roebuck Cleveland Store. They eloped to the Olathe Courthouse in 1936 and enjoyed 67 years as faithful companions and soul-mates. Fran continued to live at Villa Ventura in south Kansas City upon Harry’s eternal rest entry in 2006. They raised one daughter, Sharon E. Duncan of Kansas City. Fran enjoyed being a housewife following many years of retail work with Macy’s Dept. Store, downtown KC. She was an avid volunteer with Research Medical Center, logging well over 5,000 hours of service, mostly with the Second Chance Resale Shop. Fran was a member of the Holmeswood Baptist Church in south Kansas City. Fran was preceded in death by her parents and husband, brothers Vernon and John, Jr. and sister Florence Phillips. Survivors include her daughter, only grandson Rev. Jeff and Melissa Duncan, loving great-grandchildren Lauren Duncan of Seward, NE and Brianna and John Mason of Austin, TX, and other House family relatives. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home.
