

Frances K. O’Brien went to be with Jesus on June 27, 2017. Frances was born in Franklin, MO on November 26, 1925. After graduation from St. Peter and Paul High School in Booneville, MO, where she attained the honor of Salutatorian, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri. She worked as an office assistant for an insurance company for three years. She married Fred J. O’Brien on July 5, 1947. After raising 10 children, Frances returned to work an additional 10 years in the insurance business.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Fred; parents Rose and Ed Gross; two sons, Fred, Jr. (Holley) and Paul Matthew (Janice); three sisters, Irene Savage, Mary Alice Drees and Eunice Miller; a granddaughter Rachel O’Brien, and daughter-in-law, Kendra O’Brien. Frances is survived by: daughter Sharon (Jed) Ervin, son, Stephen O’Brien, daughter Maggie (Bill) Baughman, daughter Sue (Kevin) Sheehy, daughter Linda Charlton (fiance Mark Loschke), son Greg O’Brien, son Dr. Dennis (Ann) O’Brien, and daughter Barbara (Tim) O’Neill.. She adored her 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a gentle and kind person and a role model of her Catholic faith.
The recitation of the Rosary and Visitation will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19 at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64112. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5 pm. Private Christian Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family wishes to express much appreciation to the staff at Park Meadows Retirement Community and Interim Hospice and Health Care for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Visitation Catholic Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
