Frank Joseph (Joe) Tierney III, 66, of Independence, MO, passed away October 27, 2012. He was born October 21, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. Frank was a 28 year veteran of the Kansas City Fire Department and held the position of Captain. He was also employed at Ameristar Casino. Frank is survived by his; wife Margaret Theresa Tierney; mother Sylvia McGraw Moser; sons Brian (Kathy) Tierney, Pat Tierney, and Chris (Brianne) Tierney; grandchildren Andrew (Kristina), Chris, Conor, Emily, Tyler, Michael and one great grandson, William Tierney. Frank is also survived by his brother Larry (Carrie) Tierney and sisters Frances Martin, Debra (Ed) Bajec, and Susie McGee. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 30 at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
