Frieda Irene (Sprague) Brumwell passed away on July 30, 2015 in Shawnee Mission, KS from complications due to a fall. Frieda was born February 12, 1917 in Buffalo, MO to Ernie and Mae (Gilpin) Sprague. She married William Brumwell in May 1941.
Frieda had a long career with TWA, starting work in August 1945 and retiring in January 1982. She enjoyed her work with its challenges and accomplishments. Frieda also had the opportunity to travel the world which brought her pleasure. Frieda valued friends and had many friendships of long standing, which enriched her life.
Frieda loved life and all living things, especially animals and specifically dogs. Throughout her life she took in many dogs, all searching for a home and love. Bill shared her love for dogs and he brought home a couple of them himself. Whenever one dog passed on, another one in need of a home would appear at their door.
Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ralph, and her husband Bill.
Frieda is survived by her nephews-in-law Michael (Mary) Brumwell, Dennis Brumwell, and James Brumwell, and great nephews Ryan and Sean Brumwell. She is also survived by several cousins, good neighbors, her loving caretaker Susan Myers, and her dearest friend David Nogar.
Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m., with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on August 3, 2015 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South.
