Mr. Gene Allen Cook

Gene Allen Cook, 70, of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014. Visitation will be Tuesday September 23 at Floral Hills from 5-7pm. A memorial service will begin at 7pm. Burial at a later date. Gene graduated from Northeast High School in 1962, started working at General Motors in1965, and joined the Army in 1968. After returning from his military service, he went back to GM where he worked until he retired in 1995. He was a proud member of the UAW Union and the American Legion. Gene loved the outdoors and was a fantastic fisherman, avid hunter, and loved to travel. Gene was extremely generous, kind, and a loving man. He had a great smile and loved to laugh and enjoyed a good joke. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles (Bob) and Norma (Billie) Cook. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Diane Cook and his two-stepchildren, Lisa Bogue and Steven Weidman (Helenmarie). Gene was a loving grandfather to his 6 grandchildren; Jeff and David Bogue, Xavier, Kaylea, Raven, and Justin Weidman. He was a true gentleman and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
