

Genevieve Soulis, 87, lifelong Kansas City, MO resident, passed away March 26, 2017 surrounded by the Grace of God and her loving son Stephen. Born December 30, 1929 to Anthony and Helen (Tluscik) Kulik. Genevieve attended St. Stanislaus grade school and graduated in 1947, from East High School. She was married to the love of her life Constantine “Connie” Soulis, in September 1948. Genevieve and Connie had five children, three of whom survived to adulthood, Helen Kay Soulis, Stephen Soulis, and Connie Soulis Gish. She has two lovely granddaughters Jourdan and Camryn, Gish.
Genevieve worked for City National Bank & Trust in her younger years and in early married life she helped Connie with his ice cream vending business. During the sixties, she served as an officer in the St. Stephen’s PTA, and a sponsor for the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) and on their behalf, successfully garnered donations from Kansas City businesses for many events as she was always a persuasive personality. From 1963 to 1972, she worked at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit as an inspector. Genevieve had many family and friends who remember her as a strong personality, good friend, pool player and dancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-five years, Connie, her infant children, brother Walt Kulik, sister Natalie Poplawski, brother Stanley Kulik and sister Jenny Kulik. Her surviving family, daughter H. Kay Soulis (Mike Conley), beloved son Stephen Soulis (Leslie Vance Soulis), cherished daughter Constance “Connie” Soulis Gish (Steven Gish) her beautiful granddaughters, Jourdan and Camryn Gish. The family wishes extend their appreciation to the Hospice Staff of Interim, the many wonderful staff at Bickford of Mission Springs and the staff at Villa Ventura of Kansas City MO for their loving caring over the last few years.
A Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 followed by a visitation until 8 p.m. at the McGilley State Line Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5th at St. Thomas More, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Interim Healthcare Hospice.
