George L. Peck, 97, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011. Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. followed by services at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 17, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. George was born March 3, 1913 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of George L. Peck Sr. and Burkie Miller. He was raised in Kansas City and graduated from Westport High School. George attended Rockhurst College for two years. He entered the Naval Reserves in 1933. George was employed by Wolferman's Grocery Stores until their closure. He then worked for Pacific Mutual Door and Sash until his retirement. On July 4, 1937, he married his wife of 72 years, Anita F. Peck. George is survived by his daughter, Barbara Fetzer, son Mike Peck (Cheri), daughter Sally Webb (Leonard) and son Bud Peck; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
