Georgeanne "Annie" Salmon passed away at Liberty Hospital July 26, 2011. Georgeanne was born in 1951 on the 4th of July – a coincidence she took pride in. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Liberty. She dedicated much of her life and most of her waking hours to working as a residential support specialist for women living at Immacolata Manor, a residential care facility in Liberty. She considered the women there her family. Georgeanne was very involved in the Special Olympics while working at the manor. In 2009, she transferred to My Day, a day program of Immacolata Manor that took women from the facility on outings in the community. She had a charming and ever-present sense of humor and loved her faith. Daryl, as close friend, at St James Church, said that everyone always commented on Georgeanne's big brown eyes. Georgeanne's father, George William Salmon, preceeded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Ann Bain. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, or to the Special Olympics. Rosary at 1 p.m. with visitation to follow. There will be a 2:30 p.m. mass, all on Friday, July 29th, at St James, 309 S. Stewart, Liberty. After the service friends and family are invited to gather at 4 p.m. at the community room at Liberty Place Apartments, 1050 Kent St., Liberty.
