Gerald “Gomer” Fletcher, 73, passed away April 15, 2012. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64105. Mr. Fletcher was born December 18, 1938 in Buford, Arkansas, son of Everett and Hazel Fletcher. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired Kansas City Motorcycle Police officer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, with a special love, patience and dedication to Nicky. He was a hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand, and was an inspiration to all. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene and sister Ivonne. Survived by wife Carmen; children Gina (Paul), Jeff (Karen), Maria (Jake), Casey (Brandon), Mari Carmen (Alberto), Nicky, Sarah (Drew), Tony (Janet); thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Fran (Les), Sue (Freeman), Sherry (Donnie); and many extended family members and friends.
