

Gerald J. Riga, 85, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully with his daughter at his side on August 6, 2015, in Leawood Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Agnes Church, 53rd and Mission Road, Roeland Park, KS. Burial will be in Forest Hill/Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until Mass at the church.
Jerry, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, was born on December 28, 1929 in Dodge City, Kansas, to Louis B. and Helen Clethus (Frankenberg)Riga. He is survived by his three children: Kathleen Mary Riga of Galveston, Texas; Gerald Patrick Riga of Camdenton, Missouri; Beth Ann Hutchinson of Fairway, Kansas; six grandchildren Shannon, Courtney, Matthew, Keely, Caitlin and Ryan; and two great grandchildren.
Jerry served in the Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. After leaving the Army, Jerry became an engineer and soon met his adoring wife, Eda Marie “Babe” Fahey in Kansas City, Missouri. Because of Jerry’s work in the oil industry, they lived in Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Iran during their more than 60-year marriage. While stateside, Jerry and Babe lived in Texas and Oklahoma. Jerry retired from Willbros as Senior Vice President of Operations in 1996, and the couple retired to their long-time home in Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks.
