Gerald grew up in Indiana and then joined the Air Force. While stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Eva, and they married. They made their home in the Kansas City area, where they had two daughters and grandchildren.
Gerald retired from the loan and finance industry after many years of dedicated service. He loved spending time with family and friends, going fishing, and playing dominoes. He enjoyed going to church and had a profound faith in God. Despite his long illness, he remained strong in his faith and never questioned or complained. Gerald was known for his ability to bring a smile to everyone he encountered and for his love of laughter.
His immense kindness and humor will be deeply missed, and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. We find comfort in knowing he has joined our beautiful mother, Eva, and daughter, Irene, who were waiting to greet him, along with other family and friends who have gone before him.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Risser (2017); daughter, Irene Medlin (2015); parents, Warren and Edna Risser; brother, Laurel Risser; and sisters, Imogene Myers and Verna Herr.
Survivors include his daughter, Verna (Kevin) Morris; son-in-law, Terry Medlin; grandchildren, Robbie Medlin, Kyle (Erin) Morris, John Medlin, Colin Morris, and Jacob Medlin; and a great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, Helen Stewart of Ohio and Eldon Risser of Kentucky.
