Geraldine was born on May 26, 1941 in Marshall, Missouri to Jerry Clifford Barr and Alberta Barr. She attended Westport High School, where she met the love of her life, Jack Roberts. They were married on July 31, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri, where they spent 63 wonderful years together. Gerry and Jack loved animals and adopted many dogs, cats, and the occasional unorthodox pet, like the skunk they once took in. There was never a time Gerry didn’t have an animal in her home.
Gerry worked at Black & Veatch for 23 years, and then at Nordstrom for 10 years. For the last year and a half, she has resided in Independence, Missouri in her own apartment, where she made many treasured new friends. Gerry was also a proud organ donor and it meant a great deal to her that she is able to help others even after she is gone.
Gerry was preceded in death by parents Jerry and Alberta Barr, and husband Jack Roberts. She is survived by brother Gary Barr (Susie) of North Dakota, sister Susan Cadena (Larry) of California, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 10-11 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home, immediately followed by a graveside service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
