Gilbert Clay Alexander, 80, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 701 South Noland Road, Independence, MO.
Gilbert was born September 15, 1935 in Kansas City, MO, to Walter and Anna Alexander. After he graduated from high school, Gilbert began working for Hallmark Cards until his retirement. He was an avid music lover, especially opera, was fond of reading and books in general, and was an antique collector. He also loved archeology and art. Gilbert raised several Basset Hounds and loved dogs. He was very generous with his friends and loved to share his passions with them. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents.
