Born in Umuba Village, the heart of Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria, she was the cherished last-born of eight children. A proud Nigerian American, she carried her roots across the Atlantic, honoring both her heritage and the life she built with grace and dignity.
She was a woman of compassion and service who poured her care not only into her profession as a Registered Nurse, but into every person blessed to know her. She nurtured more than just her three devoted children, Anthony, Victoria, and Christina, but also every human being who stepped into her life.
To know her was to be wrapped in the warmth of home. Her smile, radiant and true, and her boundless, open-hearted spirit turned strangers into kin. She celebrated birthdays like seasons of joy—sending wishes weeks in advance and gifting a dollar for every year lived. With tender hands and a generous soul, she curated care packages like love letters—filled with sweet notes, candies, and tiny treasures. And no one—absolutely no one—ever left her embrace without being fed, both in body and in spirit.
She adored yellow—like her spirit, bright and warm. She found comfort in nature, whether she was relaxing on the beach admiring the vast ocean around her or tending to her garden listening to the peaceful sounds of blue birds chirping. A true Dancing Queen, she swayed to ABBA and got jiggy with Lucky Dube, never passing up a chance to fill a room with laughter and song.
She was a woman of deep Christian faith, moving through life with quiet courage and calm assurance, ever certain that “with Him, all things are possible.” The future never frightened her; instead, she met each day with love, presence, and a light that never dimmed.
Above all, she was a mother—devoted endlessly to Anthony, Victoria, and Christina, who were the lights of her life and the center of her universe. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy lives on through them.
We are heartbroken, but we rejoice knowing she now dances freely, her smile brighter than ever, watching over us.
Rest well, sweet mother. You were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed.
