

Grace Evangeline Beasley, 97, Overland Park, Kansas passed away Friday, September 30th, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 7th, 1919 in McKinney, Texas, daughter of Frank Wire and Anna (Johnson) Wire. She was the youngest of four girls. The family later moved to Joplin, Missouri where Grace graduated from Joplin High School in 1936. She worked for Halls in Kansas City, Missouri for a number of years.
In 1943, Grace married Joseph E. Comer and was married to him until his death in 1982. She then worked at Prairie Village Public Works for 27 years. It was there she met Wallace Beasley and they were married in 1984. Shortly after they married she retired so they could enjoy traveling, playing tennis, and golfing with family and friends. They both enjoyed the many friends they had at Leawood Country Club and Loch Lloyd Country Club. Grace was a member of The Village Presbyterian Church.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Edith, Ella and Mildred, and her husbands. She leaves behind her daughter Catherine Burdette; son Joseph C. Comer (Bianca); grandchildren Josie Hunter, Abby Comer Rasins (Scott), Edward Welch, Christopher Burdette; great-grandchildren Brayden Hunter, Rylie Hunter, Liam Rasins and Emilia Rasins; and her beloved cat Puddy.
Visitation will be Friday, October 7th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mount Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 8th, at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Len Carrell in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
