Grace E. Canton, 88, of Patterson, California (formerly of Prairie Village, Kansas), passed away August 9th, 2011 at home from heart failure. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20th, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66212 and/or Kansas City University of Medicine And Biosciences, 1750 Independence Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64106. Grace was born February 26, 1923 in New Sharon, Iowa. She was employed by Southwestern Bell/AT&T shortly after graduating from high school and worked for them until her retirement in 1983. She had been active in church activities over the years and enjoyed square dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, son Roger Dean and grandson Eric David.
