Harold E. Hackney, 88, of Kansas City, MO died December 27, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice. Memorial services will be held Thursday January 6, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 92nd and Lamar, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be held 1:30 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be held at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Harold served in the Air Force in WWII. He graduated from the University of Missouri. He was with Butler Mfg. He joined the George A. Reintjes Co. where he retired as Secretary-Treasurer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Jerene, nieces and a nephew, great nieces and nephews, and his special extended family as well as many friends. He will be missed by several furry friends and especially his walking buddy, Barney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Foundation, Wayside Waifs or a charity of your choice.
