Harold Frank Swenson, 98, Kansas City, Missouri passed away February 24, 2016. Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, February 29, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, 6400 State Line, Mission Hills, Kansas, 66208. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Mr. Swenson was born May 15, 1917 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Eric and Sigrid (Blad) Swenson. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran. Mr. Swenson had owned and operated a Kansas City Times/Star paper route.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Gladys Swenson. He is survived by his children David Swenson, Rae Thiel (Russell) and Paul Swenson, three grandchildren Matthew Thiel (Liz), Kyle Thiel (Heather) and Susan Kantor (Igor), and four great-grandchildren Will, Charlie, Olive and Betsy.
