Hazel Ruth Wright, 95, Olathe, KS passed away April 26, 2015. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, at the funeral home. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mrs. Wright was born June 14, 1919 in Menahga, MN, daughter of Robert C. and Jane V. (Long) Johnson. During WWII she worked on the glider’s used during the Normandy Invasion. She also worked many years for Sidney’s on Broadway as a waitress.
She was preceded in death by her husband William H. Wright. Mrs. Wright is survived by her sons William H. Wright Jr. and wife Jonnie and James R. Wright; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a loving extended family.
