Helen Hogan passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Helen was born January 11, 1928 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She earned her degree from K.U. in music education & was an Alpha Chi Omega. Helen met her husband, William "Red" Hogan, at K.U. & they were married August 14, 1948.
Helen was an accomplished organist for Village Presbyterian Church for 40 years. She was a member of P.E.O., AGO, Milburn Country Club, & a volunteer on many church committees, a lover of travel, music, KU sports, & Chiefs football.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie & James Ward, & her loving husband. She is remembered by her daughters, Nancy Koons (Greg) & Sallie Wandling (Lee) & her three grandchildren, Andy Rieger (Lucy), Billy Wandling & Annie Wandling.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Brighton Gardens & Vitas Hospice for their loving care. A service will be held Friday, Sept. 23rd at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Village Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
