During World War II, Helen worked for Cook Paint and Varnish, remaining there until 1948. She later worked for Ford Motor Company until 1950. After that, she devoted herself to home and family, becoming a homemaker and raising four children with steady care and thoughtful attention. In the 1980’s, she returned to work at Sears, fully retiring in 1987.
Helen married William Ross on April 15, 1950, and they shared 37 years together. They raised Walter Ross (Donna), Bob Ross (Debbie), Patricia Ross Grun (Steve), and Teresa Ross Garton (Tom). Helen is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.
Helen loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, Germany, and Europe. She also enjoyed bowling in leagues, playing cards, and bingo with friends. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, giving it generously and with a kind-hearted presence that made ordinary moments feel important.
Helen was a member of Saint Charles Church since 1956, a long-standing part of her life and community.
