

Henry George Kane, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Kansas City, Missouri on August 20, 2024. Born on July 13, 1934, in New Haven, Connecticut, Hank lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love. On June 16, 1962, Hank married the love of his life, Wallis Clara Krynack. During their 62 years of marriage, they raised a family and shared a life filled with joy and mutual respect.
Hank graduated from Cranston High School in Cranston, Rhode Island. He then earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Roger Williams University. His commitment to service was evident through his tenure in the Air National Guard from 1952 to 1963. Hank’s professional journey as a safety engineer included multiple firms and concluded with his retirement from Alexander & Alexander in 1991.
In retirement, Hank found joy in spending time with his family. He loved watching the KC Royals and the KC Chiefs. He also enjoyed cheering on the KU and Mizzou football and basketball teams in honor of his granddaughters’ colleges. As a founding member of Holy Family Church, Hank’s faith and commitment to his community were central to his life. Hank cherished spending time at weekly lunches after church with his New Mark group of friends of over forty years. Hank was an avid outdoorsman with a profound love for wildlife. He enjoyed sharing his passion for hunting and fishing with his son, Robert.
Hank is survived by his beloved wife, Wallis and his daughters Cheryl Brooks and Susan (Troy) Renkemeyer; six grandchildren: Ryan, Kara, Katherine, Sydney, Haley and Alexa; and his 4 great grandchildren: Jayden, Karlee, Nora and Oliver.
Hank was preceded in death by his father, Henry George Kane, his mother, Zenobiah "Connie" Lewicki, and his son, Robert Henry Kane.

Hank’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155.
