

Jacqueline (Jackie) Royal Cumberford, aka "Babe", 80 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, July 8th at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 19, 1931 to Pat & Susie Royal. She grew up in the northeast area of Kansas City. She attended Gladstone grade school and graduated from Northeast High School in 1948. She worked in the late 1940's at Montgomery Wards on St. John where she met her husband, Sturgis Cumberford. They were married June 2, 1950. She always dreamed of having a large family and/or a farm; she received both, seven children and a beautiful place in Edwards, MO where her and Sturgis retired. They believed it was heaven on earth. She is survived by her brother, Fred P. Royal & sister-in-law Ellie Royal; her children, Debby Sweeney (Greg), Lindy Totta (Vince), Sturgis W. Cumberford, Jr. (Cheryl), Clay Cumberford & Chris Cumberford (Maria). She has eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, which are all her pride and joy. She is preceded in death by her sons Jack Cumberford and Clint Cumberford. Services will be at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home; visitation on Wednesday, July 11th from 6-8pm. Funeral service on Thursday, July 12th at 11am. Jackie's seven grandsons will carry her to her final resting place in Floral Hills Cemetery.
