

Jacqueline Dee Rimel, age 86, passed away on January 10, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City after a brief illness. Jackie was born on her grandparents’ farm near Terre Haute, Indiana July 11, 1925 to Neva and George Leon Apple. She grew up in Kansas City, marrying her high school sweetheart Robert C. Rimel on October 29, 1943. He preceded her in death one year ago. She was a wonderful mother, devoted wife and hardworking business partner in the years when the Rimels ran their family fishing resort at The Lake of the Ozarks. She had her own home décor shop while they lived at Silver Lake in Raymore, Missouri. In the 1970’s she discovered flying and became a terrific pilot flying her own plane. She and Bob flew all over North America and made many trips down into Mexico. They spent a few years in Houston, Texas in the 1980’s returning to Missouri to live at Truman Lake near Warsaw. Eight years ago they moved back to Raymore to be near their big family. Jackie raised four sons who survive her: Robert and wife Susan, Mike, Jim and wife Leanne, Kenny and wife Sherry. She was the proud grandmother of ten and great grandmother of fifteen. She also leaves her brother Darrell Apple and wife Charlotte and many nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors. In respect for her wishes, there will be no funeral. Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
