On Thursday, April 14, 2022, the world lost an amazing man. James (Jim)
Everett Orr was born on October 22, 1943 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Ernest and
Ruth (Everett) Orr, who preceded him in death.
They moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1952, and he attended Thatcher
Elementary and Northeast Junior and Senior High School.
He met his wife Judy (Sole) Orr in middle school. They later married on January
25, 1964 and were blessed with two daughters, Lori and Angie, which completed
their family.
As a teen, Jim worked at Commerce Bank parking garage, and later worked inside
the bank. He then went on to work for Kansas City Auto Auction in 1969, where
he later became general manager. He enjoyed a very successful career with
Manheim and was loved and respected by many. He retired in 2005, but continued
to travel and do consulting for them for several years.
Jim always had a love of motorcycles. He became a member of the KC Hog group
and went on to become a road captain, lead several rides, and make many lifelong
friendships. He took a lot of pride in this group and was well respected by many.
If you knew Jim at all, you knew he was a family man. His family meant
everything to him! His two grandchildren, Mason and Kennedy, were his world.
He took many vacations with them, enjoyed summers at the lake, and very rarely
missed any of their school activities or sporting events. He was the Best PaPa
anyone could ask for!
Jim and Judy lived a wonderful life together in their marriage of 58 years, and were
the perfect example of love.
Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Orr; daughters, Lori Orr (Bill) and Angie (Brian)
Eaton; grandchildren, Mason and Kennedy Eaton; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Sole
(Terri) and Basil Porter (Irene).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth (Everett) Orr; sister, Tina
Elms; mother in law, Mildred Jones; fathers-in-law, Hurley Sole and Raymond
Jones; and sister-in-law, Sandy Porter.
To know Jim Orr was to love him. He was a friend to all!
A memorial visitation will be held at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home in
Raytown, Missouri on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm,
followed by a celebration of life at 7:00 pm.
