

James F. Koren, 55, Kansas City North, passed away December 5, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 10th at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 416 W 12th St, Kansas City, MO; cremation. Friends may call from 5:30 – 8 PM Thursday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. Contributions are suggested to Catholic Charities or King’s College.
James was born May 30, 1955 in Pottstown, PA. He lived in Kansas City since 2007 and previously lived for 6 years in Grosse Pointe Park, MI and for 17 years in Virginia. James worked for the Department of Labor for 32 years, currently serving as District Director of the Wage and Hour Division. James graduated from King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, PA and earned his Master’s Degree from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. James was a patient, hard-working family man, always putting his family first, while working on ways to improve himself. A devout Catholic, he was a founding member of the Msgr. Ernest Fiedler Council #14489, Knights of Columbus. James lived an active lifestyle and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. His father, Francis Koren, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Ann of the home; a son, Tim Koren; and daughter, Katie Marfori and husband, Carlo, all of Washington, DC; mother, Dolores Koren; brothers, Gerry Koren and Ken Koren and wife, Ruth; sisters, Diane Bodolus and husband, Dave and Tina Love and husband, Bob, all of Pottstown, PA.
