James E. Lawrence, 83, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away August 7th, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11th, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Lawrence was born April 20th, 1928 in Adrian, Missouri, son of Marshall and Artie (Campbell) Lawrence. He attended Center High School. He later married the love of his life Bernice Lawrence in April 1947. He worked as an Excavation Contractor for 25 years. Mr. Lawrence was devoted to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Bernice Lawrence, son Mike Lawrence, and brother Glen Lawrence. He is survived by his son Bill Lawrence, sister Hazel Deckman, daughters-in-law Jackie Lawrence, Carol Lehman and Rene Lawrence, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
