

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Thursday, November 19 at the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs (301 SW Woods Chapel Road). Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery South (10507 Holmes Rd).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Jim by mail to the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs (301 SW Woods Chapel Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015).
Jim was born in St. Joseph, MO on July 27, 1942. In 1960, Jim graduated from Glennon High School in Kansas City, MO. Upon graduation, Jim joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve and served 7 years. During that time, he began his bricklayer apprenticeship with Local 4 and worked many years in the trade before co-founding Trio Masonry, Inc. in 1983. Jim was a very successful and well-respected commercial masonry contractor, and was extremely proud of his achievement of serving in the industry for over 50 years.
Jim was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs. He dedicated his life to the ministry of serving others. For over 42 years, he graciously volunteered his time and talents. Whether it was coaching his boys in sports to mentoring future bricklayers, or consulting on various church construction projects; his love for helping others was evident.
Jim was grateful for the love of his life, his wife Linda of 50 years. He was a true family man in every sense of the word. His unconditional love, strength, and wisdom will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Folts. He is survived by his wife Linda, son and daughter-in-law Bill and Jennifer, son Scott, brother John Osborne and wife Susan, sister-in-law Lois Jeanne Hipple, grandchildren Tori, Jaden and Will, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
