James E. Parsons, 83, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 25th, 2023. James was born February, 17th, 1940 in Branson, Missouri. James was a star basketball player and graduated from Branson High, then worked at Bull Shoals Dam. He served his country by joining the Air Force. He was trained and given security to be a communication specialist while stationed in Turkey. This training as a computer programmer prepared him for a job with Sprint, where he worked until he retired. After retirement, Jim enjoyed the Moose Lodge 2414 where he was a member for 20 years.
James is survived by his sister Lola Bell Schnell of Kansas City, Missouri, three nieces: Amanda Schnell, Noelie Crawford, and Clara Gamargo, several grand nieces and nephews, and longtime friend and companion Frances Liebi.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date at the Moose Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
